Almost every aspect of our work is involved with commercially sensitive information and confidential personal data. As a result, all our assignments are managed on a Strictly Confidential basis.
When we are taking instructions on a brief for an assignment or consulting project, then we will raise and discuss any potential conflicts of interest with existing Off Limits.
We abide by our commitment to our Clients; for a period of 12 months from date of assignment completion our Client organisation is clearly Off Limits to any approach by us.
This professional commitment should be offered and adhered to by all executive search and consulting firms.
Whilst our primary activity is in Executive Search and Consulting, we do have specific arrangements in place with certain key Clients for Talent Referrals.
We are occasionally approached by individual(s) who, for genuine reasons, are seeking our assistance in managing the next career step. In each case, we arrange an initial meeting and if we can help, then we work with those individuals to develop the candidate report that faithfully represents their experience, expertise and background. And finally, we discuss which of our key Clients to approach and feedback will be given on the agreed approaches.
As a client retained search firm, we do not undertake contingent assignments nor do we provide outplacement services for individuals.

Rupert was a founder partner of Patterson Irving in 2000 and leads the business, conducting search assignments for C-level, executive leadership and sector specific appointments across the Insurance and Reinsurance sectors. He also handles consulting projects for key clients across the assignment footprint.
Rupert has over 20 years in executive search and consulting, during which he has built and established a strong track record in the sector and longstanding key clients. His clients include Brokers, Insurance Companies, Underwriting firms and Consultancy organisations operating in the Lloyd’s of London & London International Markets, UK and Europe, Bermuda and into North America.
Rupert was previously with C.T. Bowring working in the Lloyd’s and London International Markets, and Johnson & Higgins Inc working in North America, Europe and Middle East. Both companies are now part of Marsh Inc.

Stuart has worked in the Executive Search industry for the last 15 years with a particular focus on Insurance industry clients, specialising in the non-life and life arenas. He has managed assignments for a range of leading UK, European and International Insurance businesses.
Stuart has a Risk and Insurance background, starting his career with a London market Insurer from university, and in 1990 joining the broker Jenner Fenton Slade. He worked with a predominantly European client base, in particular in Scandinavia, handling insurance and reinsurance contracts with London market insurers.
Since 1999 Stuart has managed Executive Search assignments in a variety of risk and Insurance sectors. He has excellent knowledge of London, European and International markets, and has delivered on assignments including those with a regional/cross border requirement.

George leads the specialist research capability for Patterson Irving. This includes target mapping, preliminary approaches to candidates and pre-screening. He assists with searches at senior management and board level across Financial Services. He works in the main European languages and undertakes cross-border assignments into Europe, the US and Asia.
He has worked in executive research since 1994 supporting UK and international search companies. His specialist area within Financial Services encompasses general insurance, retail banking, fund management, private wealth management and research into senior finance roles in industry.
George is a graduate in Spanish at Bristol University and is a member of the Executive Research Association.
